The best way to contact me is to email me at asudell@acm.org. I read that mail regularly, generally daily. I reply to all reasonable requests.
Question: Why am I reading this page at all?
Answer: Most likely, you followed the link on the top of my resume. The online copies include a link to this page rather than directly including contact information.
Question: Why don't you just put your contact information on your resume like a normal person?
Answer: Mostly because I've been burnt in the past. I like to make my resume available online. It makes things easier for people, who I want to have see it. Putting your email address directly on a resume makes it likely you'll get a lot of spam from resume mailing services that search for such pages.
Question: Why haven't you given me your address or phone number?
Answer: Because it's just easier for me to get back to you if you email me. Also, since my email is a forward via a professional organization I intend to remain a member of, it tends to follow me around better.
Question: Won't this make it harder for legitimate people to contact you?
Answer: I don't think so. The idea is to make things just hard enough to stop programs from adding my contact information to resume databases, but not get in the way of humans.
